At Sustainable Future by Design (SFD), we are committed to assisting clients in reducing their concrete carbon footprint by utilising emerging and current technologies to reduce their dependency on cement. Some areas of focus are using calcinated clay, increased levels of Flyash and GGBFS (where available), chemical admixtures and mineral additives. SFD ensures that the mechanical and plastic properties are maintained or enhanced when reducing the dependency on cement.
SFD can also assist with various applications within the concrete manufacturing process by optimising the mix designs and still ensuring compliance with AS 1379-2007. Managing raw materials and concrete test data and frequently analysing results to ensure the concrete's best performance. Guidance is also available for testing raw materials and concrete, and a complete list of services and concrete applications can be found in the services tab.
Niki Jackson is the director at SFD and has over 22 years of experience in the concrete and extractive industry, with roles varying from concrete/aggregate tester, concrete/aggregate technical, operations, chemical admixtures, and project management, as well as many other skills and attributes. Niki holds a Masters's Degree in Science and Engineering, specialising in Advanced Concrete Technology, holds a certificate in cement chemistry and sustainable cementitious materials, is a member of the Concrete Institute of Technology and has achieved a Black belt in Six Sigma Engineering.
